This position also oversees the management of CCBC's Annual Giving Program. The primary focus will be upon alumni and other friends at and above the major gift level $5,000 plus. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: -Planning and managing an aggressive annual fund program, including volunteer coordination, direct mail appeals, e-solicitations and phonathon. -Developing a marketing plan to help promote the needs of the university and ensure the success of the annual fund. -Recruiting, training, managing, and recognizing volunteers who assist in fundraising. -Work within the moves management system to upgrade donors, and to identify and cultivate prospects for annual fund solicitations. -Design, implement and oversee a plan for support of CCBC, which integrates and maximizes fundraising and alumni affairs. -Manage a portfolio of 125 prospects capable of making a major gift of $5,000 plus. -Provide ongoing stewardship of donors through special events, receptions, luncheons, dinners, letters, calls and visits. -Prepares statement of planned activities and enlists support from members of the CCBC Alumni board and volunteers. -Identifies potential contributors for special project funds and supporters of institution's ongoing operations through examination of past records, individual and corporate contracts, and knowledge of community. -Assists the Vice President in managing the affairs of the Development Committee of the CCBC Board to sustain and strengthen their participation in the organization's development activities. -Organizes solicitation drives for pledges of ongoing support from individuals. -Recruits, supervises, trains, and evaluates the department's staff; organizes, and assigns responsibilities to staff and coordinates the activities consultants and volunteers. -Identifies/quantifies expectations from development and special events programs; analyzes actual program costs and benefits vs. expectations; develops annual budgets to support implementation of development programs. -Participates in long-term strategic planning process to ensure that development programs support CCBC's mission and future goals. -Performs other duties as assigned. -Manage a broad-based giving program for both annual and major gifts. -Other duties as assigned. FOR BEST CONSIDERATION APPLY BY MARCH 5, 2010 Qualifications / Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: -Workable knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser's Edge donor software. -Knowledge of or adaptable to excel, Micosoft Word 2007, and Publisher -Demonstrated project management and leadership skills. -Ability to effectively plan, implement and evaluate. -A proven track record of success in soliciting and securing major gifts from individual donors, etc. -Highly collaborative so as to establish and foster relationships, the candidate will have strong able to manage several projects simultaneously. -Excellent interpersonal skills are required. -Ability to understand trends within higher education/community and ability to adapt programs and goals to address current and future economic and development situations. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS: -Bachelor's degree, preferably a master's degree, and 5 years of fundraising management experience. -Minimum of 5 years of fundraising and management experience in Development, including alumni relations. -Must possess necessary skills to solicit gifts at the highest level from alumni and friends. -Ability to plan and implement a fundraising plan. -Excellent oral and written communication skills.
